Gallery 6: Owen Illinois Glass
Driving along the 410 through Brampton Ontario, I've seen this imposing factory many times. I finally decided to capture it for potential scratchbuilding purposes. A little research showed it is OI Glass, formerly Consumer's Glass. We had a tour of a similar looking Consumer's Glass plant when I was in Grade 3! I wish I'd had a digital camera back then, but I'll never forget all the red-hot bottles streaming along the assembly line.
This shot is a good overview of the structure, showing the unloading area, some covered hoppers, and the conveyors from the storage silo into the 3 large buildings where they make the glass.
